We are thrilled to announce the Africa Water & Sanitation Systems Leadership Symposium 2026: Accelerating Water and Sanitation Transformation for Sustainable Impact, which will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from 17-21 August 2026*. This pivotal continental gathering, co-convened by the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) and IRC and other partners, is one of the key milestone events planned for 2026, in a series of activities aimed at laying the necessary foundation for implementing the 2063 Africa Water Vision and Policy.
The Africa Water & Sanitation Systems Leadership Symposium 2026 is not just another symposium. It is a moment to launch Africa's Water and Sanitation Systems' Transformation Agenda to deliver the 2063 Africa Water Vision and Policy. The Symposium is a political, financial, and institutional space where African leaders and global partners will align on a shared commitment: building credible, resilient, and investable water and sanitation systems. This is not about diagnosing problems—it is about providing solutions, sharing country experiences, and launching systemic as well as transformational activities.
