| Abstract | Mobile Water & Sanitation School [Spanish acronym, Escuela Móvil de Agua y Saneamiento] EMAS manual water pumps are shown to have a high rate of functionality as used at the household level in the studied contexts in Bolivia. The EMAS manually - drilled wells surveyed, which were in-stalled by numerous different drilling teams (most of whom are independent of EMAS) were reported to be reliable, with a very high percentage of wells providing water throughout the entire year. These conclusions combine with an evident considerable adoption of the EMAS Pump and manually - drilled wells to show that the technologies have had an important impact on increasing access to water supply at the household level in many rural areas of Bolivia.
