Paresh Chhajed-Picha is a WASH sector professional with nearly 15 years of experience working at the interface of research, policy, and practice. He holds a PhD from IIT Bombay, India, where his work examined governance and institutional frameworks influencing faecal sludge management (FSM) planning and outcomes in Indian small cities. Focused on city-wide planning and service sustainability, he combines field-based research with policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.
He has collaborated with academic institutions, government agencies, and international organisations, contributing to peer-reviewed research, conference presentations, practitioner guidance, and capacity-development programmes.
He is also a long-standing moderator of the SuSanA Discussion Forum, supporting global knowledge exchange. At IRC, Paresh contributes to research, learning, and advisory work to strengthen sustainable delivery of WASH services.
